Knowing that trout feed on nymphs for a large portion of their diet, it only makes sense that we have flies at the ready to imitate all of the various insects.  As you'll notice with the patterns featured in my videos, many are imitative, while others are more suggestive, and that is an important difference to note.  When to use the two different types is a key to nymph fishing, and can help you become a more successful fly fisherman.  Finally, be sure to recognize that many of these patterns include hot spots, which act as "triggers" at times for those flies.  Nymphs are an important part of my fly fishing arsenal, and I know they will lead to success for you, as well.
